Our free community library in Manali has reached 200 children
Diverse Collection
Our Manali library houses 1500+ books in English and Hindi. It is diverse collection, covering a vast range of themes relevant to our audience. Even though our collection is primarily meant for children (3 years – 15 years), we try to cater to a wider audience through books for adults. Our collection is a result of several years of research and includes various formats like board books, sound books, picture story books, graphic novels and comics etc. We want every child to be excited about reading!
Reading Programme and Rewards
We recognize that most children struggle with grade-level reading. In order to support our members’ reading journey, we have started Phonics (English) programme. We also offer various rewards – like 100 Books Challenge – where members get a library bag for reading their first 100 books.
Other Fun Activities
We also conduct reading sessions, toys and games days and art activity. Once a month we present a thematic display, where the children are exposed to books on a particular theme. There is also a related activity (like friendship band making for Friendship Day) and a snack afterwards.
